Race Intelligence
How Race Forecast and How Others Trained work.
Race Intelligence
Race Intelligence is a Premium feature that helps you prepare for upcoming races and review completed events.
You can access it from the main navigation: Race Intelligence.
What You Can Do
1) Race Forecast
Use Race Forecast to understand your position in a race field:
- Add races and keep them organized in one place
- See projected times for participants before race day
- Compare your expected standing in the full field or your age group
- View race metadata (date, distance, location) for quick context
2) Pace Calculator
Use Pace Calculator to estimate time, pace, or distance for any triathlon discipline:
- Select sport: Run, Bike, or Swim
- Enter any two of: time, pace (or speed for bike), distance
- The third value is calculated automatically
- Supports metric and imperial units
3) How Others Trained
Use How Others Trained to learn from athletes who completed similar race goals:
- Select target distance
- Filter by gender, age group, and finish-time band
- See cohort median and spread for projected finish times
- Open athlete prep snapshots to compare weekly volume, consistency, long-run frequency, and intensity mix
Key Details in Race Forecast
Upcoming races
- Participant times are shown as:
- PR: best known time at that distance
- est.: estimated from available training history
vs Youshows time difference relative to your projected result- Standing badges (for example, top 10% or mid-pack) summarize your current position
Completed races
- If a race result is available, finish times are shown from recorded activities
- Some finish times may appear as matched when the system links a likely result by race date and distance
- If no result is available yet, athlete status remains registered/no result
Filters and Cohorts
In How Others Trained, filters are designed to keep cohorts meaningful:
- Distance, gender, age group, and finish-time band can be combined
- If a selected finish-time band is too narrow, the app may expand it slightly so results stay useful
- Cohort snapshots show:
- Comparable athlete count
- Median projected finish
- P25-P75 projected spread
Athlete Prep Snapshot
When you open an athlete from the cohort, you can view:
- Average weekly distance
- Runs per week
- Consistency and long-run frequency
- Estimated intensity mix (easy/moderate/hard) with confidence level
- Week-by-week distance timeline across the prep window
You also get a short recommendation that helps you interpret whether your prep currently leans more toward volume, intensity, or balance.
Managing Races
You can:
- Add a new race
- Join an existing race
- Edit race details (name, date, distance, location)
- Delete a race (removes it for all participants)
